Supporting Mums Beyond the Fourth Trimester: Nurturing Long-Term Postpartum Health

Why I'm so passionate about supporting mothers beyond the fourth trimester...
(A little heart-to-heart while I do the laundry ✨)

Something I see all too often (and have felt myself) is that support comes flooding in right after a baby is born. And while that's beautiful — because yes, those early days of healing and recovery are so important — quite often, the real challenges haven't even begun yet.

In those first few weeks, the partner might still be home. The fridge is full from all the love and meal drops. The baby mostly feeds and sleeps.
But then... the weeks roll on. The baby hits 3, 4, 5 months... and things often get so much harder.

The 4-month sleep regression kicks in. Suddenly that peaceful, sleepy newborn is catnapping and waking through the night.
Mum is exhausted.
Life is still happening — school runs, grocery shopping, laundry piles, house chores. And often, the support has dried up.

This is why I'm so passionate about supporting mothers well beyond the 4th trimester.

This is why I offer Mother’s Helper support here in the Byron Shire — to be that extra pair of hands, that calm presence, that little bit of breathing space you deserve.

If you’re a mumma needing support — reach out. I would be so honoured to show up for you in this tender season. 💛

And to friends of new mums — may you feel inspired to trickle your love out over the months ahead, not just the first few weeks.
Be the friend who pops by with a meal at 4 months.
The one who sits for a cuppa and folds some laundry, preps a dinner, or gives the kitchen a quick tidy.

I guarantee, you’ll feel like an angel to a mum who really, truly needs it. ✨

You’re not late. You're right on time. 🫶🏼
